Johnny Ramone, of the pioneering punk group the Ramones, died of prostate cancer Wednesday. Born John Cummings, he founded the band in 1974 with Joey Ramone, Tommy Ramone and Dee Dee Ramone. The Ramones loud, minimal style and DIY attitude were credited with inspiring the formation of the Clash, the Sex Pistols, and many other bands. Johnny is survived by his wife Linda, and his mother Estelle.
